Bookstore Presents Local Mystery Authors

Two Book Corner volunteers, both mystery authors, will discuss and sign their books at a benefit event at the bookstore on Saturday, August 3, 2013, from 1 to 3 p.m. Mystery fans will be pleased, since both authors have written “Mysteries with a Sense of Place.”

Joyce Lekas’s “Dyed in the Wool” is set on the Navajo Reservation, where the Navajo environment and traditional way of life are threatened by toxins in the water. Myrna Daly’s “Night Falls in the Gorge” takes place near Wahkeena and Multnomah Falls, and readers may never see the Gorge hiking trails the same way.

The two writers are among 35 volunteers who work in the bookstore and its online book sales program.

A portion of every sale will be donated to the New Friends of the Beaverton City Library; proceeds from this event — and all book sales — benefit Beaverton Library and Murray Scholls Branch Library.

The program is free, and all are welcome.
