The New Friends of the Beaverton City Library wrapped up a successful fall sale on Saturday, November 23, 2013, with sales of $4,379, reported sale coordinator Sharon Van Buren.
“This was our biggest sale ever, and our first three-day sale,” she said. “We appreciate the community support and the volunteers who kept the display tables stocked during the Thursday-Friday-Saturday sale.”
Proceeds from the sale will provide funding for materials, equipment and programs that are not covered by the library’s operating budget. This year, NFBCL contributions have funded items such as pre-loaded e-readers available for checkout; books for children’s and young adult book clubs; shelving for DVDs; and monitors for the circulation desk at the Murray-Scholls branch library.
The next library book sale is planned for May 2014.
