Spring Book Sale Set for May 10-11

The New Friends of the Beaverton Library are having another great

book sale, Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, 2013, at the Beaverton City

Library. All categories of books will be featured, from gardening, cooking,

and biographies in nonfiction to classics, mysteries, children’s books, and

more. The sale will also have a section of music and movies (CDs and

DVDs).

The sale will be held in the lobby of the main library, 12375 SW Fifth

St., Beaverton, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Want To Help?

• Donations of gently used books, CDs and DVDs are welcome, and can

be dropped off at The Book Corner, the used bookstore operated by

the Friends. The bookstore is located at 12470 SW Fifth St. (at

Washington). Store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Donations to the nonprofit NFBCL are tax-deducible, and all sale

proceeds from the library sale, The Book Corner or its online store,

benefit Beaverton’s two libraries.

• Additional volunteers are needed to help with setting up the sale

and assisting customers. Two-hour shifts are available on Thurs.,

May 9 for set-up work, during the sale on Friday and Saturday, and

after the sale closes on Saturday.

During the final hour of the sale, buyers can fill a bag (provided by

volunteers) for just $1.

The next big books and media sale will be Nov. 22-23, 2013, at the

Beaverton City Library.
