The Children’s Room is small and inviting for children, furnished with a child’s size table and chairs, and four walls of bookcases full of children’s books. Our vast children’s book selection is made up of books donated by the community. New stock comes in daily. Paperbacks are usually priced from 75 cents to $4.00 and most hardbacks range from $1.50 to $5.00. Recent releases, first editions and autographed copies are priced slightly higher.
Three walls of bookcases house fiction divided into: Baby Board Books, Picture Books, Beginning Readers, First Chapter Books, Children Series, Middle Readers, Vintage and Classics. Another wall of bookcases holds nonfiction books divided into: Foreign Language, Religion, Arts/Crafts & Activities, Socials Studies/History, Biographies, Animals, Space and Earth Sciences, General Science and Reference. Children’s DVD’s and CD’s are also available in the children’s room.
The Young Adult Section is located just outside the Children’s Room. Our Young Adult Section includes fiction, series, romance, fantasy and more. Teens may volunteer for community service at The Book Corner. Please call Sam at 503-643-5188 .
Who likes to shop here? Everyone likes to shop here! Our customers range from teachers, tutors, and college students, to grandparents, parents & kids, as well as book collectors. Many philanthropic groups and mothers of Peace Corp volunteers also buy books to send to schools in Africa, South America or to donate to schools in the Portland Metro area.
