“Grow Your Mind” is the theme of the fourth annual spring book and media sale, April 30 through May 3, 2014, in the Beaverton City Library lobby and conference room. The sale opens Wednesday, April 30, with a special Members Preview Night from 5:30-7:30 pm, at which members of New Friends of the Beaverton City Library get “first pick” of the books, movies (DVDs) and music CDs on offer. Membership is $15 for individuals and will be available that evening.
Regular sale hours begin Thursday, May 1, 10 am-8 pm; on Friday, May 2, sale hours are 10 am-5:30 pm; and Saturday, May 3, 10 am-2 pm. Display tables will be re-stocked each day, and beginning at noon Saturday, all unsold books will be 50 percent off.
All categories of books will be featured: recent best sellers and popular fiction; non-fiction topics such as gardening, cooking, travel and home improvement; and children’s books. All of the “gently used” books, movies and music have been donated by the public, and proceeds from the sale benefit the Beaverton City Library and its Murray-Scholls branch. The book sale and The Book Corner, across from City Park at SW 5th and Washington, are projects of the New Friends of Beaverton City Library.
